A roofing lead is useful when it tells you where the roof is, who decides, what work is wanted, what roof it is and when the project should happen.
The five fields to require
| Field | Why it matters | Status in the record |
|---|---|---|
| Project address and ZIP | Confirms service area and lets you check the property before calling. | Submitted |
| Homeowner or authorized decision-maker | Avoids estimates for people who cannot approve the work. | Self-reported |
| Repair vs. replacement | Routes the request to the right crew and price range. | Self-reported, confirmed by call for phone-qualified leads |
| Roof type and estimated age | Prepares materials questions and expectations. | Prospect’s estimate |
| Project timeline | Sets follow-up priority. | Self-reported |
Questions to ask the provider
- How do you separate insurance-claim questions from replacement projects?
- Is the lead exclusive per project, and for how long?
- What contact check is performed, and is it stated on the record?
- What is the maximum lead age at delivery for my campaign?
- Which reasons are accepted for a review request, and within how many days?
Red flags
- Promises of storm jobs with guaranteed insurance approval.
- No timestamps, or a single “lead date” with no time zone.
- “Authorized for any channel” permission labels.
- Prices quoted without stating the qualification level.
